How to Mentor Youth and Young Adults
Picture
One of the most effective indicators of student success is the relationship that teachers have with their students. Having a mentor can give students support in finding direction and maximising their full potential. Learning how to be a good mentor is important to the success of any mentoring program. This program will give teachers real skills, tools and strategies that will lead to better awareness, empowerment and an overall sense of competency in supporting students to navigate challenges, trust in their abilities, and build a solid foundation for success and wellbeing.
Bespoke Mentoring Programs

Looking to establish a mentoring program for your senior students?
A bespoke mentoring program is tailored to understand and meet the specific needs of your students and staff. We collaborate closely with you to structure a program that seamlessly integrates into your school environment. Our workshops focus on training mentors directly from your school community, empowering them to guide young people in developing personal understanding, resilience, and confidence. This includes helping students trust in their abilities, manage the pressures of senior school, and build resilience and confidence.

Individual Support

Coaching and mentoring are offered to individuals or small groups. Students will be challenged, supported and empowered to build awareness, gain clarity and maximise their full potential.

Coaching and mentoring can help them:
  • Manage stress and anxiety
  • Stay motivated and improve focus
  • Identify blocks and limiting beliefs
  • Overcome the fears and create positive habits of thinking
  • Develop self-awareness, confidence and positive behaviour
  • Trust, respect and value yourself

HEAR FROM OTHERS

"Some really great activities that help break down barriers and make engagement so much easier. I will definitely carry a lot of it into my work with young people."
- Kelli / Community Mentoring Coordinator

"The techniques I learnt helped me to stop thinking I need to ‘fix it’ and instead gave me a good structure to know how to really listen.
- Jenny C / Teacher

"My approach has completely changed. I learned to listen and ask the right questions and how to let the person come up with their own answers, without influencing with my bias."
- Zena / Parent of teenage boys

"I have learnt as much about myself, as I did for working with young people. This will help me as a parent and as an employer of young apprentices. A very worthwhile and eye-opening day!"
- Shaun / Parent and local business owner
